I've been busy pounding away with my hammer and have created some fun samples.  These are just some of my firsts and many more to come.  I am just so excited I wanted to get them on the blog.  Every item is sterling silver and natural gemstones.

Also because these are made by hand, part of the uniqueness that I love is that sometimes the letters don't line up perfectly.  This is not a flaw but actually adds charm to the hand forged piece.  I can make just about anything, so custom orders are expected!

Morgan's Running Club

Before the run.

During the run.

After the run with her friend Emma.

Over the past several weeks Morgan has attended an after school running club. She has had a great time running! Yea-one of my kids likes to run like me;) Morgan has asthma, so I was worried that she would have a hard time, but she did great and she was so proud of her self. The race was a 2 mile run around a track and she did it!  She even ran in sparkly pink Converse All-stars.  Thats my girl!

Morgan's Mother's Day Poetry Reading

Morgan is just finishing up 2nd grade. Wow! I had the privilege to attend her poetry reading. Morgan is so sweet! Her 2 poems read:

My Mom
My Mom is Love.
My Mom is Pink.
My Mom is Graceful.
My Mom is Fun.
My Mom is Jarrie.
My Mom.

What is Pink?
Pink is cotton candy.
Flowers are pink and cute.
Pink smiles make me laugh.
On Easter I got pink eggs.
Poodles are pink.
Pink makes me feel good
When I play with my friends.

Morgan and her 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Mcguirk

Puppy Love

Many of you know how much I love my dog Gunner. I know it sounds retarded, but he fixed me of being baby hungry. He likes me best, and cuddles with me on the couch. He doesn't cry and he is house trained. He is about 7 1/2 months and a bit spoiled.

Homeade Pretzels

This tasty recipes comes from my friend Jen. We have made these several times and stuck them in the freezer and sent the kids to school with homeade pretzels. Oh they are the envy of their classmates.

4 teaspoons active dry yeast 1 teaspoon white sugar
1 1/4 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
5 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup baking soda
4 cups hot water
1/4 cup kosher salt, for topping
DIRECTIONS:In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes. In a large bowl, mix together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center; add the oil and yeast mixture. Mix and form into a dough. If the mixture is dry, add one or two tablespoons of water. Knead the dough until smooth, about 7 to 8 minutes. Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl and turn to coat with oil. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). In a large bowl, dissolve baking soda in hot water. When risen, turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and twist into a pretzel shape. Once all of the dough is all shaped, dip each pretzel into the baking soda solution and place on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake in preheated oven for 8 minutes, until browned. Put a pretzel in your child's lunchbox with small containers of mustard, honey, ranch, ketchup, cheese sauce, or whatever dipper he/she likes.

What do you guys do on Sundays?

Sunday is the one day out of the week that you hope your children will be nice and loving and they don't kill each other by the end of the day..hmmmm. I wish it were that easy! When they start trying to strangle each other they get sent outside to the trampoline. Growing up, in good ole Columbia, Mo-my parents never gave into the idea of a tramp. I really don't see why, are yard was freakin huge! Really, the tramp was one of the best investments we have made in 15 years of marriage. As you can see all of my sweet, kind children are actually getting along. This ONLY happens on the tramp, sigh.

Wait-are Paige and Kai actually holding hands?  What the heck.

Tangerine Twist Quilt

This is by far my favorite quilt. The colors make me hungry and it has reminded several people of sherbet. Yummy. I love the zig zag pattern on the back!!  My dog Gunner was camera happy, he wouldn't get out of half the shots I took.
