It Is Finished

Thanks to my lovely quilting friends, I finally finished my first ever REAL quilt. I have attempted before to make a quilt, but never really knew how to do it. This is a baby quilt, and NO I AM NOT PREGO! I haven't decided what to do with it, I may just keep it as a memory. I am sure Morgan will confiscate it for her babies. Anyway, I am moving onto a new piece of art. Can't wait till it is finished. It will be a gift for someone special:)

Fab Friday Newz

I have absolutely no idea if I am doing this right? So I am going to try to particitpate in my sisters FAB FRIDAY NEWZ. Not that there is anything exciting to post but I thought it would be good to be positive.

*Today I had a garage sale and made $200 in 4 hours...not to shabby:)

*I am also about ready to launch MORGIEPIE DESIGNS on ETSY. I am making cute baby items to sell. It really is just for fun, but mainly to help myself de-stress. I have been working on burp clothes, nursing cover-ups and cute little loveys. It is a work in progress, I will post my link when it is all set up.

Bed Head

This is what I woke up to this morning. I wish I could say I had as good a nights sleep as Morgan. Recently, I've struggled trying to find some ounce of joy in my days...and this is a reminder to me that there is something worth getting up for every day. Thank you Morgan!

Back To School

I didn't get a picture of Paige. Kaden was so excited to start school. He loves his teacher and has made some new friends. I can't believe my baby is in kindergarten. Kaden came home from his first day and said that he didn't even have to go to the principals office.

Football

Football, football, and more football. This is what our fall is all about. Kailer is playing running back this year. It is so fun to watch him, I tend to get overly excited and he gets embarrassed. I think I will get some pom poms:)

RUNNING

This picture is from the Georgetown Idaho Springs Half Marathon. It was a great race, finished in 2 hours 12 min. Much improved from the Moab 1/2 in April...it took me like 2 hours and 40 min. I did have a concussion the week before but that still is a yucky time. Venessa(the gal on the left) had only been training for like a month and she kept up and did awesome!!!

This is from the Cabbage Head Duathlon. It was a 5K run 20K bike 5K run. Amber, Carrie, Erin, and I did it together. My first 5k I ran an 8 1/2 min mile!!! The second 5K I had a side ache and barely made it over the finish line.

As many of you know I am a runner, not very fast but I have improved over the past 10 years. I used to run a 12 minute mile...I know PATHETIC!! But I run between a 9 and 9 1/2 minute mile. I competed in several different races this summer. Mostly I enter these races just so I have a goal in sight. I need something to keep me focused and on track. My good friend Carrie has been my running buddy, and I probably would not have done all the races we did without having a friend to come along...although she always kicks my butt:) I did a 10K , 2 1/2 marathons, and a duathlon.
Now a group of 12 ladies, me included are going to be doing the Wasatch Back Relay next June. It is 188 miles through the moutains. This should be a lot of fun!! I won't start really training till spring but it will give me a goal to stay in shape ocer the holidays!! We are putting together a running blog for our team and I will post it soon.

Hawaiian Birthday

A friend our family, Dwight Peterses had a 40 birthday party. It was so fun, Hawaiian food, Hula, and a fire dancer who looked like Shakira! You really couldn't ask for a better way to end the summer.

Bear Lake

I love this picture of some of the cousins bums!

From Utah we headed up to Bear Lake to boat and play in the sun. The water is a beautiful shade of blue and we had a great condo. On one of the days we went through Minnetonka cave, which is fun except I had to give my jacket to one of the kids. I froze, I think the temp stays arounf 45 degrees year around.

I did go get Devin from the SLC Airport so we could have a couple days with him. Things sure have changed from when he was just a business owner. We could go on vacations whenever we wanted, now we have to work around his schedule.

Off to Utah

I also took the kids...BY MYSELF to Utah for a week to hang with some of the cousins. We had a great time visiting the Creamery, BYU, shopping, etc...

July 4

Our ward had a pancake breakfast and one of the games was to slurp jello through a straw-I failed miserable. GAG REFLEX!!

Kaden got a new bike, although he has insisted on riding his 12 incher!! The other day Kaden left the 12 incher outside behind Devin's truck and it got run over:( So I told him he could ride his larger brand new bike, but he only wanted the 12 incher so he told me he was gonna put the new bike behind Devin's truck again so it would get run over and he could get a new smaller bike.
I took the kids to the Orchard on the 4th. Devin had to work that day, so I decided we were going to try and have fun by ourselves anyway!
