Wonky Quilt

This quilt has been a learning experience, it is my 3rd one and it is now pieced together.  It is for my and I think I will back it with flannel so it will be warm and cozy in my famdamily room.  Each of the kids wants me to make one for them so we can all cuddle together and watch movies...or football:)

I don't think i will be able to quilt it till after I get back from HAWAII, and I will most definantly repost so you cna see the finished product.  Does anyone have an good suggestions for a name, leave a comment if you do.

October Festivities

This year I tried to take my kids to a new pumpkin patch, which did NOT go over well at all.  So we made 2 visits to 2 different pumpkin patches.  It has been a family tradition to go and cut our own pumpkins a Rock Creek Farm in Broomfield, Co.  We have done this as a family ever since we moved to Colorado.  I thought it would be fun to try something new we headed up to Longmont for pumpkins.  It was very disappointing because you couldn't cut your own pumpkins you just picked them out from a pile:(  What kinda pumpkin patch is that??? The kids whined and complained and Paige said "what is the point in having a TRADITION if you don't keep it".  Anyway she put me in my place and we headed to our usual Halloween patch.

Kailer's 11th Birthday

How time flies!!  I still remember Kailer as our big BUBBA!!  He was a very chubby baby, infact he was close to 17 lbs by 2 months old. If you looked at Kailer from a side profile, you couldn't even see his lips because his cheeks were so chubby.  I did not carry him in the car seat for very long since he weighed so much...and I'm sure I had HUGE biceps:)  He is a great kid, who is always willing to help me around the house and wants to please us.  In another year he will be passing the sacrament at church and I still can't get him to wear a tie or tuck his shirt in!  I keep telling him I am going to sew lace on the bottom of his dress shirts so he will keep them tucked in.  I am so happy to be your mom!  I love you Kai!!

Here it is 12 am-insomnia AGAIN!!  What is it with getting older, wrinkles, aches and pains, insomnia, sagging boobs-blah!!!  As I laid in bed just waiting for sleep, I was thinking of the awesome series I am reading right now.  So I popped some melatonin and decided to come share my fabulous find!
I HEART books, love em!!  Infact I love to buy them because it brings me such happiness to know that they are sitting on my shelf just waiting to be read.
It has been a while since I have read something that I just couldn't put down.
For anyone who wants a good read I recommend....THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins, as well as the follow up Catching Fire.  I would love to know if anyone has read this series and what you thought about it.Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When her sister is chosen by lottery, Katniss steps up to go in her place.
Much to her shock, Katniss has fueled an unrest she's afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her more is that she's not entirely convinced she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and Peeta to visit the districts on the Capitol's cruel Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can't prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying.
